The 16th Polish-Saxon Economic Forum took place in Wrocław — an event that has brought together entrepreneurs, scientists, and innovation leaders from Lower Silesia and Saxony for many years. This year’s edition, organized by the Saxon Economic Development Agency and the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, was held under the theme “Medicine of the Future.”
A large delegation of entrepreneurs and Life Sciences experts from Saxony visited Wrocław to explore the region’s rapidly developing research institutions, med-tech startups, and technology companies. The growing importance of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in medicine was the main topic of the forum — and understandably so: this field is expanding month by month, and its impact on quality of life and the competitiveness of the European economy is becoming crucial.
Animativ and Wroclaw Medical University on the AI in Medicine Panel
Among the invited participants were representatives of Animativ and Wroclaw Medical University, who took part in a discussion panel focused on the use of artificial intelligence in medicine.
The discussion centered on practical implementations and the real impact of AI on diagnostic and educational processes, including the example of the joint project Kid AID — an innovative tool supporting the assessment of young patients’ health status.
The panel highlighted that:
- collaboration between academia and business is essential for the development of modern med-tech solutions,
- AI-based technologies have enormous potential, particularly in pediatrics,
- Kid AID is an example of a solution that can significantly support clinicians in rapid decision-making,
- Polish-Saxon partnerships may become a driving force for shared development in both regions.
