MedTech or TechMed? – Animativ on the Future and AI Innovation in Healthcare

The conference “MedTech or TechMed? Driven by AI” clearly demonstrated how dynamically the MedTech sector is developing and how crucial close collaboration between academia, the technology industry, and clinical practice has become. Such partnerships are now essential to effectively prepare healthcare systems for upcoming changes.

MedTech and AI – Key Directions for Healthcare Development

The speakers gathered at the conference—led by Deputy Minister of Health, MD Tomasz Maciejewski, and Rector of Wroclaw Medical University, Prof. Piotr Ponikowski—agreed that medical technologies and artificial intelligence in healthcare are evolving at an exceptionally rapid pace. However, their effective implementation requires close cooperation between universities, technology companies, and medical professionals. Only this approach enables the creation of solutions that genuinely support healthcare systems and respond to patients’ real needs.

Partnership Between Animativ and Wroclaw Medical University

For years, Animativ has consistently operated at the intersection of technology, education, and medicine. Together with the team from Wroclaw Medical University, we are implementing the Kid AID and Custom Med projects, which serve as examples of the practical application of modern technologies in healthcare.

During the conference, we presented the Kid AID project, showcased by Marcin Kwiatkowski and Dr Kamila Ludwikowska. The presentation demonstrated how technology- and AI-based solutions can support clinical processes and improve the experience of medical teams when examining the youngest patients. The strong interest in the project confirmed that the direction we have chosen addresses real needs within the healthcare system.

Expert Conversations and Meaningful Discussions

An important part of the event consisted of numerous industry conversations and discussions, which made it possible to view the development of MedTech from multiple perspectives—clinical, regulatory, and systemic.

We held many inspiring discussions, including with MD Tomasz Maciejewski, Deputy Minister of Health; Prof. Piotr Ponikowski, Rector of Wroclaw Medical University; Dr hab. Robert Zymliński, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Wroclaw Medical University; and Dr Katarzyna Hein-Peters, a psychiatrist specializing in innovations in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.

Dialogue with opinion leaders, decision-makers, and clinical experts enabled a valuable exchange of experiences regarding the responsible implementation of AI in medicine, as well as the role of innovation in the long-term development of healthcare systems.

Artificial Intelligence as Support for Doctors and Patients

One of the most important conclusions of the conference was the role of artificial intelligence as a tool that supports physicians rather than replaces their competencies. When implemented responsibly, AI can improve the quality of care, streamline diagnostic processes, and enhance patient safety.

This approach is fully aligned with Animativ’s philosophy—technology should be safe, transparent, and useful for end users, with the ultimate goal of providing real support for clinical practice.

The Future of Innovation in Healthcare

The “MedTech or TechMed? Driven by AI” conference confirmed that the future of healthcare is built on partnership, dialogue, and the responsible use of technology. Animativ will continue to actively engage in projects that combine AI, MedTech, and clinical practice, creating solutions with a real impact on the quality of healthcare.

We would like to thank everyone for the conversations and for the opportunity to co-create and actively participate in a conference that provided a valuable space for knowledge exchange and partnership building.
